The Ama LED pendant light from Bomma is like a pearl from the depths of the mysterious sea - elegant and captivating. The name of the collection is based on the Japanese diving pearls known as Ama, and this spirit is reflected in the look of lighting. Its glass construction resembles the delicate shells of seashells that host precious pearls. Thanks to the carefully cut glass and light source in the centre of lighting, Ama creates a soft and pleasant ambient light, while the polished growth lines give the light a sense of authenticity and uniqueness. Ama is a true pearl of essence in design, created under the direction of designer Václav Mlynář.

Designed by Václav Mlynář

Václav Mlynář, creative director of BOMMA since 2017, is a renowned designer who graduated from the Royal College of Art in London and the University of Applied Arts in Prague. His designs combine aesthetics, sculpture and the uniqueness of glass objects. The Ama lighting collection he created for BOMMA is inspired by the elegance of pearls and the delicate shapes of shells, with the name referring to Japanese divers collecting pearls. The design evokes open and closed shells with a central light source resembling a pearl. Miller is also the creator of other collections such as Mussels and Buoy, and in addition to his work for BOMMA, he runs his own design studios and works as an educator.
