Hand blown crystal

Bomma's hand-blown crystal is created using a traditional glassmaking technique where the master craftsman scoops molten, high-quality crystal glass onto a blowpipe and uses breath, rotation and special tools to create the desired shape - some pieces are formed into metal moulds, others are shaped completely freehand. Once cooled, this is followed by precision grinding and polishing for perfect transparency and surface smoothness, with decorative elements such as the dew drops from the Dew Drops collection often receiving special optical effects including pearlescent finishes. Each piece undergoes rigorous quality control to meet exacting aesthetic and functional requirements, allowing Bomma to combine centuries of Czech glassmaking tradition with a modern design approach to create unique lighting where crystal becomes the medium for a fascinating play of light.

Luxury and sustainable design

The vegan leather in Bomma's Dew Drops lamp is a modern and ethical alternative to traditional leather, made from high quality polyurethane (PU) or plant-based materials, combining a luxurious look with sustainability. Soft, durable and UV stable, the imitation leather retains its refined appearance over the long term, whilst being easy to maintain by simply wiping with a damp cloth. Hand-stitched strips of this material perfectly wrap around the metal structure of lighting, creating an elegant contrast to the glittering crystal drops, while being designed to withstand the heat from the LED source. This solution confirms that Bomma not only thinks about visual excellence but also about environmental responsibility, offering a design jewel for the interior that respects nature without compromising on quality or aesthetics.

Designed by Boris Klimek

Boris Klimek - a Prague-based designer and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Product and Conceptual Design Studio) with international experience from internships in England, Slovakia and the Olgoj Chorchoj studio, creates design that goes beyond mere functionality towards poetic stories and emotions. His work, which has been awarded in numerous competitions, combines technical precision with playful imagination - as in the Dew Drops lighting for Bomma, where he has translated the inspiration of nature (dew drops) into a contemporary craft object. Klimek consciously works with imaginative shapes, light and materials to ensure that his works are not only useful, but also stimulate the imagination and create memorable atmospheres. In each project he seeks that magical balance between perfection of execution and the ability to evoke a personal, almost intimate experience.
