The Blimp Floor light from the Czech company Bomma, designed by the Swiss studio Big-Game, represents a unique combination of first-class glass craftsmanship and modern design. Available in three sizes and two finishes (clear and honey gold glass), this impressive hand-blown piece is the largest fixture that the Bomma craftsmen can create. The dominant yet airy design is complemented by warm white LED lighting (2700K, RA 90+), which creates a pleasant ambient atmosphere in the honey variant. The Blimp collection, which is created by blowing into a metal mould, is the result of Bomma's first successful international collaboration and the Swiss designers' first experience of the craft of glassmaking. Each piece thus bears unique handmade details and becomes a distinctive but harmonious element of modern interiors, from living rooms to the reception areas of prestigious hotels.

Hand glass mastery

Each Blimp light is a testament to exceptional Czech glass art. Experienced craftsmen create it using the demanding technique of blowing molten glass into a metal mould, while perfectly mastering time, temperature and breathing rhythm. The giant glass volume requires precise work - the walls must be regular, thin and visually clear. The honey-gold version goes through the laborious process of colouring the glass in the mass. Tiny traces of handwork, such as fine bubbles or slight variations in thickness, are a sign of authenticity and make each piece an original art object. This combination of traditional craftsmanship with modern design gives rise to a luminaire that is technically perfect and at the same time carries a palpable human energy.

Luminous intensity of the Blimp floor lighting

The Blimp Floor light produces a pleasant warm white light (2700K) with excellent colour rendering (RA90+) that diffuses gently into the space through hand-blown glass. The clear version provides even illumination, while the honey gold shade gives the light a subtle golden hue, perfect for creating a cosy atmosphere. LED technology ensures a high-quality and energy-efficient light output, making light perfectly suited as a decorative ambient lighting source for living areas, hotel lobbies or designer interiors, where it combines functionality with artistic value.

Designed by Big-Game

The Swiss designers from Big-Game (Augustin Scott de Martinville, Elric Petit and Grégory Lacoua) bring the perfect combination of Swiss precision and playful elegance to the Blimp lighting. Founded in 2004 in Lausanne, this progressive trio created their first ever glass design for Bomma, surprisingly combining the industrial inspiration of airships with the delicacy of hand-blown crystal. Their distinctive style, exhibited at prestigious institutions such as MoMA and Centre Pompidou, is characterised by clean lines, intelligent playfulness and a perfect sense of proportion - which is reflected in Blimp's harmonious combination of monumental appearance with lightness and airiness. Here, the designers have proven that even traditional glass craftsmanship can be given a modern, fresh look without sacrificing functionality and elegance.
