Amelia is a white ceiling lamp designed by Héctor Serrano with a very light style and curved, organic shapes that subtly intertwine and enrich the space. The rounded diffuser provides a larger emitting area and prevents glare, making it ideal for ambient lighting. The light source is designed for a bulb with an E27 base. The lamp is available in two colour options - white and black. The IP44 protection makes it ideal, for example, for the bathroom or other wet areas. The lighting solution is designed for global markets and is compatible with mains voltages 110-120 V and 220-240 V.

Faro Amelia with IP44 protection

The IP44 protection of the Amelia ceiling luminaire means that the luminaire is protected against the ingress of solid objects larger than 1 mm (e.g. wires or small tools) and against splashing water from all directions. This level of protection ensures that the luminaire is safe for use in areas with moderate exposure to moisture, such as bathrooms, corridors or outdoor areas under shelter. Water protection means that the luminaire is not designed for direct contact with water, but is sufficiently resistant to occasional splashes of water, making the luminaire suitable for environments with higher humidity where increased protection against dust and water is required.

Light that shapes space

The Amelia ceiling luminaire by Faro Barcelona consists of a sturdy circular base that is fixed to the ceiling and made of durable material. A frosted glass part with a rounded shape is fixed on the base, which evenly diffuses the light and creates a pleasant atmosphere in the interior. The light source is placed inside and is designed for a bulb with an E27 base, allowing the use of different types of bulbs. The luminaire is available in two colour options - matt white and matt black, giving it a modern and elegant look, ideal for contemporary interiors.

Héctor Serrano Design Studio is a London-based design studio founded in 2000 that creates products and spaces that combine innovation, simplicity and timelessness with an emphasis on emotional experience and detail. He has worked with leading brands and institutions such as Roca, "la Caixa" Foundation, Telefónica Foundation, Coachella Festival, Noken by Porcelanosa, ICEX (Spanish Ministry of Industry), Muji and FontanaArte, and his work has won awards including the Red Dot Design Award, AD magazine's Designer of the Year 2009 and the Peugeot Design Award. His projects have been exhibited in prestigious museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York, and are part of collections including Amsterdam's Central Museum. In 2010, the studio founded Borealis, a company specialising in exhibition and installation projects.
