Variable luminaire Costas

The Costas luminaire from Faro Barcelona is available in two sizes - a smaller one with a diameter of 40 cm, ideal for more subtle lighting, and a larger one with a diameter of 60 cm, which is suitable as a striking design element. It also offers two variations of offset from the wall or ceiling: the wall-mounted version, where the luminaire fits closely to the surface and looks compact, and the semi-mounted version, which, thanks to the spacer, slightly offsets the shade, ensuring better light diffusion and emphasising its aesthetics. This variability allows the luminaire to be adapted to different interiors and functions.

The magic of Rattan

The Costas luminaire from Faro Barcelona has a simple and sophisticated design that combines functionality with aesthetic design. The solid metal base ensures stability and allows it to be mounted on the ceiling or wall, while hiding the mounting elements for a clean look. The dominant feature is the hand-braided rattan shade, which leaves the bulb visible thanks to its open structure, emphasising the minimalist and airy design. The luminaire is designed for bulbs with an E27 base, offering the possibility of using decorative light sources. Available in two sizes, it allows variable use in different interiors, either as a ceiling or wall element.

Designed by Álex&Manel Lluscà

Manel Lluscà is a Catalan designer with a long career in lighting design, who started out in the 1970s making his own lighting fixtures, but eventually turned his attention to designing for other companies after he founded his own design studio. There he works with three key colleagues to create innovative projects for lighting manufacturers, decorators and interior designers, focusing on original concepts, modern materials and current trends. His aim is to bring new concepts in lighting that combine functionality, aesthetics and timeless design, making him one of the most respected creators in the industry.
