The Noctambule Floor light from the Italian brand Flos is an elegant and technically sophisticated lighting composed of modular glass parts that can be interconnected up to a height of 2.17 metres. The structure consists of cylindrical and hemispherical elements in clear blown glass, complemented by a base and connecting rings in die-cast aluminium. The inner side arms are made of hydroformed steel and the light is diffused by external diffusers made of injection moulded opal silicone. The power cord is 2 metres long and features a pedal control panel acting as a dimmer, allowing for infinite light intensity control from 10-100%. A wall-mounted power supply with interchangeable plugs is included, making the light ideal for international use. The luminaire can also be accompanied by a bowl or cone-shaped top, which gives the luminaire a more aesthetic accent and functional finish.

Glass architecture that disappears in the dark

The name "Noctambule" means "nightwalker" and refers to the unique effect of lighting: when switched off, it almost blends into its surroundings thanks to the transparent blown glass, but when switched on, it transforms into a dramatic light object that creates a subtle but impressive atmosphere.

Modular kit-inspired design

Noctambule is designed as a kit made of individual glass modules that can be layered in different heights and shapes. The user can thus create their own lighting composition - from table lamp to a striking light column over two metres high.

Designed by Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic is a renowned German industrial designer with roots in Serbia, known for his minimalist and geometric style. He studied in London and founded his own studio KGID in Munich. His work encompasses furniture, lighting and utilitarian objects that are characterized by an emphasis on function, technical precision and innovative materials. His iconic lighting include the famous Mayday lamp and the Noctambule modular system for the Flos brand. His works are part of the collections of MoMA and Centre Pompidou.
