The Skygarden pendant light from the renowned Italian brand Flos is designed for soft, diffused ambient lighting. The main landmark is a hemispherical plaster diffuser with precise mechanical machining, whose inner side is white and outer side is available in four variants - rust finish, glossy black, glossy white and matte gold. The diffuser is held in place by a die-cast aluminium alloy structure. The cable gland and fixing nut are made of black polycarbonate, as is the ceiling rosette, which is painted in a matching colour. Transparent silicone dampers serve as protective and cushioning elements. Inside the lighting there is a frosted blown opal glass diffuser, held in place by a cast aluminium nut with an allodine finish. The decorative element in the interior of lighting is AISI 304 stainless steel, photo-etched and shaped into a unique form. The ceiling fixing is made of galvanized and shaped steel, which ensures the stability and durability of the whole system.

Inspiration from your own home

When designing Skygarden, designer Marcel Wanders was inspired by his own home, specifically the stucco ceiling, which he liked so much that he had it transferred to the new space. This "sky" garden ceiling became the main idea behind the entire lighting, giving it a personal story and a poetic touch.

Secrets inside the dome

The Skygarden luminaire hides a surprising decorative element inside - a detailed stainless steel pattern inspired by the historic stucco of classic interiors. This unique motif, which remains hidden from outside view, gives the luminaire an exceptional artistic dimension and evokes the atmosphere of old European houses.

Designed by Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders is a world-renowned Dutch designer and art director based in his studio in Amsterdam. He rose to fame in 1996 with his groundbreaking design Knotted Chair, which combined high-tech materials with traditional craftsmanship. In 2001, he co-founded the Moooi brand, which quickly became one of the most prominent names in design. Wanders is known for his distinctive style that combines romance, historical references and innovative materials. He works with a team of international designers in his studio and has completed more than 1,700 projects for leading brands such as Flos, Alessi, Louis Vuitton, Swarovski and Puma. His work often transcends the boundaries of conventional design, bringing elements of humanity, emotion and unexpected humour to everyday objects.
