The process of making a hand-blown lampshade

The shade manufacturing process for Lucis' Forum pendant luminaire begins with hand-blowing the glass, which is first heated to a high temperature to make it malleable. The glass is then blown into the desired shape in three layers, ensuring its structure and optical properties. Once the glass has been shaped, it is slowly cooled under controlled conditions to prevent cracks and deformations. Finally, the glass undergoes detailed grinding and edge polishing, giving it a smooth surface and safety to the touch. This handmade process guarantees the unique and high-quality appearance of the shade, characteristic of Lucis products.
