A tribute to the iconic design of the 1960s

The 1962 Floor light is a deliberate homage to the aesthetics and atmosphere of the 1960s, a period that defined a new direction in interior design - a combination of simplicity, elegance and functional minimalism. Franco Zavarise's design was inspired by the classic arc lamps of the time, but reworked in the spirit of the present, with an emphasis on the precise craftsmanship and clean lines typical of the Zava brand.

Customising the interior atmosphere with a colourful interior

One of the unique features of lighting 1962 lighting is the possibility to choose the inner shade colour. While the white interior reflects light evenly and neutrally, the gold and copper interior creates a warm, luxurious atmosphere, perfect for relaxing in the evening. The silver finish then offers a modern, cooler feel. Thanks to these variations, light can adapt to any mood or style of interior.

Designed by Franco Zavarise

Franco Zavarise, born in 1960 in Mareeba, Australia, is the visionary founder of the Italian brand ZAVA, which he founded in 1982 with the aim of turning his passion for light and working with metal into unique lighting. After completing his technical studies, he decided to design lighting for his friends, which became the germ of the entire brand. From the very beginning, Zavarise combines his deep experience in metalworking with an instinctive sense of design. At ZAVA's headquarters, traditional craftsmanship meets state-of-the-art technology - lighting are first created using high-tech machinery and then refined by hand, with attention to every detail. Franco believes that quality design should not only be beautiful and functional, but also affordable and sustainable. Today, the ZAVA brand is a symbol of Italian know-how, where industrial precision is combined with a human touch. Interestingly, most of the products are still created directly in their workshops in northern Italy, guaranteeing quality control and authenticity of each piece.
