Cantiere is a wall light by Italian company Zava, designed by designer Alberto Ghirardello. As its name ("construction site") suggests, he was inspired by technical lighting used on construction sites, but here their raw character is reinterpreted into an elegant and contemporary form for interiors. The dominant round shape of lighting provides generous illumination, while the protective grille gives the luminaire a distinctive, industrial touch and visual power. Cantiere thus combines practicality with aesthetic austerity, ideal for both modern and industrial-styled spaces.

Inspiration from the world of technology

Cantiere draws its aesthetic from the floodlights used on construction sites, which is evident not only in the shape but also in the use of a metal grille that originally served to protect the light source. This creates a contrast between the raw industrial look and the clean design intended for modern homes, bringing an unusual technical element to the interior.

Designed by Alberto Ghirardello

Alberto Ghirardello is an Italian designer from Vicenza, born in 1985. After completing his bachelor's degree in industrial design at the I.U.A.V. in Venice, he moved to Milan where he continued his master's studies at the prestigious Politecnico University. During his studies, he already gained experience in studios such as Habits or Bartoli Design, where he completed a six-month internship. Subsequently, he worked for several years in the studio of the renowned designer Giulio Iacchetti. In 2013 he opened his own studio, where he works in various areas of design and collaborates with a number of domestic and international brands. His work has gained the attention of the professional community, been published in a number of specialist media and presented at prestigious fairs and exhibitions around the world, including Salone del Mobile, Fuorisalone, Maison & Objet and Hong Kong Design Week.
